My aunt gave me some money many years ago so naturally I went to rescue a kitty from a local rescue. The plan went sideways when I saw Ralph & his sister, Lulu, in a cage that was much too small for them both. (Ralph was a really large kitty. His sister was very petite.)I had to take them both home.Ralph loved to take a shower. He’d stand right under the shower, drinking the water as it fell. Ralph was a BIG boy, over 19 lbs. He talked like a Siamese and trained us pretty quickly to do as he wished. He was a funny guy and made us laugh everyday. He was diagnosed with kidney disease over four years ago. His surviving so long was due to buying the appropriate food for his condition, checking his blood levels regularly & making sure he was taking in enough fluids. But I believe it was our love for him, and his for us, that kept him going for so long. We were focused on quality of life, not quantity. As it turned out, Ralph gave us both.
