Dogs grieve too. Patience has been carrying around Bruno’s collar and just snuggling with it. Hard to believe the morning has come that all the songs have been sung – all the late-night walks have come to an end.  The midday “talks” are no more. It’s extremely hard to describe how perfect Bruno truly was. He was simply a pure soul, who thrived for all around him to be happy. He lived a joyful life by example every single day. Bruno simply loved life and knew how to show others the beauty of it with him. He always stopped to smell the flowers. He always took a moment to point his nose up in the sunshine and take in the wind. Bruno always looked back as if he was reminding me to do that too. Bruno reminded me to smell all the flowers and take in the beauty of each day. Bruno was intuitive, and if you came sad, he went out of his way to make sure you were tended to and happy before you left. Bruno truly lived every single day like it was his last. Bruno understood my illness like nothing I expected. He laid and cuddled with me for months after each surgery. I had the bestest buddy. He understood love like nothing I’d ever seen. He showed it every single chance he got. He never failed to lick tears away, lend a paw and sing a song when I or anyone else was upset. If you walked by my house you were guaranteed to get a very loud hello from Bruno. He was a loud lover of all people. Bruno reminded me it’s okay to express my emotions. Bruno made so many people smile just from his howling hello. Bruno reminded me a simple hello can turn someone’s entire day around. So when in doubt, live like Bruno. Stop and smell the flowers, take in the wind and sun around you. Be a true unconditional friend. If you love someone, show them. Radiate kindness and compassion. Say hello to a stranger. Turn somebody’s day around with a simple hello or compliment. Create joy for yourself and all around you. And finally – express yourself. Being vulnerable is scary, but Bruno taught me being vulnerable means your being your true authentic self. Live like Bruno!
