Our sweet black Labrador Chompers passed away peacefully at 14 years and 4 months old in the comfort of his own bed and in his loving home on Monday September 25, 2023 at 3:23 pm with his loving family, little brother Meeko and his favorite toy friends by his side, he was surrounded by so much love as we held him, gave him kisses and thanked him for everything hes given us. On July 11th we took our sweet boy to the vet to get the devastating news that he had oral melanoma and had between 3-6 months to live, the news was absolutely heartbreaking for all of us. Chompers was born on May 9, 2009 in spruce lake, NY. Chompers was not just a dog but a true member of our family, he was our baby boy, our child, and Meekos big brother. Chompers absolute favorite toys were his baby monkey that he has had since he became a member of our family, his penguin which he shared a very close bond with and his giraffe. Our Chompers was extremely smart, every time he would get a new toy mommy would come up with a name for it and repeat the name to Chompers, when I told Chompers to go grab a certain toy Chompers would bring me the toy I told him to go get, Chompers has a ton of toys so this was very impressive. Chompers enjoyed his cuddle time with his daddy, Chompers never took his eyes off him, he loved his daddy so much, they were close buddies. Chompers family was his absolute world and he was our absolute world too. We were truly blessed to have Chompers as a family member, and the love we have for him will live on forever.I decided to name his story A heart like Chompers because he had a true loving heart for life and his family, a heart that was capable of loving even when it was getting too tired, Chompers heart lives on in our hearts now. Mommy and daddy love you Chompers forever and always, this will always be your home. We will see you again someday when we cross the rainbow bridge with you. Rest peacefully our sweet angel.
